1. dihydro-furan-2.5-dione was prepared by direct catalytic hydrogenation of maleic anhydride in the presence of palladium alumina (or copper molybdate) catalyst at 160 ℃ or 5.8 MPA. The conversion rate was 98.8%. The selectivity of succinic anhydride is 100%.
2. When succinic acid is heated to more than 260 ℃ by dehydration of succinic acid, or a certain amount of tetralin and toluene is added, and heated to more than 200 ℃ at the same time, succinic anhydride can be dehydrated to form succinic anhydride. The content and yield of succinic anhydride were about 90%. The dehydration process of succinic acid can also be carried out in the presence of dehydrating agent acetic anhydride, phosphorus pentoxide and phosphorus oxychloride. For example, the succinic acid and phosphorus oxychloride were heated and refluxed to exhaust the hydrogen chloride gas, then distilled under pressure, collected 160-165 ℃ (5.33kPa) distillates, and then cooled to form white block succinic anhydride.
